DrBOB's AppelEarth

Vikings, or "Northmen", roamed the western world from their homeland in northern Europe through the Baltics to North America. On these journeys at special or sacred places they paused to carve Runes into slabs of rock and stone. These runic inscriptions served as one of the first technologies; serving as a basic alphabet, being a guide to other travelers, and providing a process by which one could communicate with the gods. As we"surf" through the internet on our"Viking Browsers" we come across sites where inscriptions have also been left for us to comprehend. Hopefully we will be able to perceive a level of craftsmanship and meaningful communication that is as relevant today as the runic monoliths were to those travelers back then.
