My name is Carlos L. Colón and I am the Manager of Technology Services at IUB Evaluation Services and Testing (BEST). From my office in Franklin Hall I maintain the BEST web site, conduct research about evaluation and testing technologies; provide technological support to our office; consult with faculty about the use of various technologies for testing, course evaluations, and surveys; and develop new tools for these purposes. Currently I am working on a database-driven system to replace our current course evaluation processing tool. More information about this and other ongoing projects in the Current Projects section.
Since 2003 I have also been occupied by my part time audiovisual production business: Megagrooves. Currently, I am mostly working on video productions for marketing and artistic performances. The new technologies and delivery approaches make this a very challenging, fascinating, and enjoyable field. It started out as a hobby when I was a teenager and it still is. The only difference is that I have learned how to charge for my services in order to adequately fund my toy technology buying needs.
My most precious activities, however, await for me at home every evening. My loving wife, my incredibly amazing son, and my cool pack of four dogs make sure that there is never, ever a dull moment in my life.
