Gmane is a mail list archive which also supports posting to mail lists.
Places to look for mailing lists: CataList list of LISTSERV lists; TILE.NET/LISTS; Or search the web (using the search engine or index of your choice) for lists on a particular topic. Many mailing lists are publicized on web sites. For example, a "gardening" web site might have a mailing list about gardening.
