I am a senior lecturer at Indiana University in Bloomington Indiana. I joined Indiana University in 2002 with my primary responsibilities centered on teaching undergraduate classes. I teach economic principles for both introductory microeconomics and/or macroeconomics for 4 sections of 200 to 350 students each. In addition, I manage about12 undergraduate interns and 4 to 5 graduate class assistants that assist with my courses.  I also regularly teach a two-course sequence of advanced undergraduate public sector economics.  I supervise and advise around 10 graduate students teaching their own section of microeconomic principles each year as the department's coordinator for microeconomic principles.

RESEARCH INTERESTS

My research interests are focused on exploring the efficacy of various pedagogical components of course design and overall program learning design. In particular, I am interested in developing new or modifying existing course components and then assessing those components’ impact on student achievement in the context of a particular course and/or program of study. In the same line, I am interested in program evaluation and development of more reliable assessment measures that are practical and informative to both administrators and instructors. In addition, I have interests in studying the efficiency of both taxation and asset markets. I have published articles in the American Economic Review, Journal of Economic Education, and Journal of Business.
