RCR Instruction Face-to-Face: A workshop

Responsible Conduct of Research Education Committee (RCREC) of the
Association for Practical and Professional Ethics (APPE)

Friday, March 2, 2012
12:00-4:00 PM (EST)
Lunch will be provided

Workshop overview | Details (.PDF) | Evaluation (Survey Monkey)

Many universities and other institutions are determined to improve their educational opportunities in the responsible conduct of research (RCR) in light of the recent NSF requirement for “appropriate training and oversight in the responsible and ethical conduct of research” and NIH’s clarification that “online instruction is not considered adequate as the sole means of instruction” to meet its long-standing RCR education mandate.

The “RCR Instruction Face-to-Face” workshop is designed to provide practical, easily implemented exercises and activities that can be incorporated into existing RCR programs, courses in research ethics, or other types of instructional events.

Join RCR peers and colleagues as, together, we explore approaches that are broadly applicable, emphasize moral reasoning over compliance, and promise to engage and challenge learners and facilitators.

Note: This is one session in the APPE annual meeting's Responsible Conduct of Research Track. All five sessions meet on March 2.
