Information for Parents

INVENTION CONVENTION (grades K-2)

Join us to learn all about inventions that help the world go ‘round! We will be looking at wheels, cars, bridges, airplanes, trains, and spaceships. Learn about why certain inventions failed, how they’ve been improved or changed and how they work. Make your own transportation items and have contests with your classmates. Students will explore true Nature of Science through exciting activities and investigate what REAL scientists do in their work with different themes each week.

THE CONCEPTS OF ELECTRICITY (grades 3 - 5)

Students will explore electricity to simple circuits, to the principle electrical induction, our approach will be hands-on, with an emphasis on the nature of science. Using demonstrations andexperiments, we will trace the historical steps of scientists and inventors who have contributed to this important area of knowledge.

 

 

 

 

 

CHEMICAL  INTERACTIONS (grades 5-8)

An inquiry science experience filled with investigations of chemistry and the nature of science.  Topics include consumer chemistry, atomic structure, the periodic table, chemical bonds, chemical reactions, solutions and the abundant carbon!  Be amazed at how much chemistry is involved in your everyday life!
