I'm an Associate Professor of New Media Communication at Indiana University Kokomo, where I am Chair of the Department of Humanities and Associate Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences. I've been teaching at the college level since 1990,working at Purdue Universityand Cornell University before starting at Indiana University Kokomo in 2002. My Ph.D. is from Purdue University.
At Indiana University Kokomo I have taught a variety of classes, but now I am focusing on courses in the New Media Communication degree program, a program I also led in the creation of. As a researcher, I have examined the intersection of writing and new media technologies, but I now focus on homepage design. In 2006 I was named an AT&T Fellow for my research into using online textbooks. I live in Westfield with my wife, two kids, and dog. I can be reached at scotjone@iuk.edu or on Facebook.
Previously, this site had a fairly elaborate design. I got tired of that, and now I am going with minimalist.
