RFS evolved out of Crystal River, which was itself an evolution of other groups. We represent two congregations, Sherwood Oaks Christian Church and Little Union Baptist Church. Most of us (all the Richardson clan and Ernie) grew up in the Unionville, Indiana area. The Richardson and Stephens families (and associated kin like Young, Chitwood, and Polley) populated that part of the state in the early 1800's.

We're not a commercial band. We rely on offerings from the churches where we play and occasional door receipts if we play other shows. These help cover our expenses. We hope to record some songs in the near future and have tapes for sale, but that's months ahead.

Why do we do it? Because we all believe in the message of Jesus and want to carry it to other people. If the songs we sing touch the heart of just one person, it was worth all the time and effort we put into the show.
