About the Creator
Tim Andrick graduates from IUPUI's school of Media Arts & Science this December. His studies include digital audio and video production, with a focus on screenwriting and storytelling. He also earned a Certificate in Applied Computer Science in August of 2010.
Tim is currently transitioning to a position with Gordon Pro Systems in Chicago. His position at Gordon Pro Systems entails Crestron programming for distributed audio/video, security, lighting, and HVAC systems that utilize integrated Crestron processors.
Tim's side projects include 2 Point Press, an indie/small press comic venture that he started with his friend, Jeff Himes. The goal of 2 Point Press is to deliver high-quality, engaging graphic novels both on the web and in print, while providing a forum for other indie comic creators to showcase their work.
In his spare time, Tim enjoys playing the piano and video games. OK, that's a lie. Tim hasn't had time to play video games in months. Such a shame, too. Skyrim looks *AWESOME*.
What is the cost of salvation?
The day Frontier Biosciences fires a geneticist named Rebecca, this question is probably the furthest thing from her mind. But after she escapes two hired guns waiting in her house, Rebecca becomes entangled in a centuries-long feud that will force her to answer the question for herself. Rebecca leaves town, but an "incident" at Frontier causes some disturbing changes: towns are empty, businesses are boarded-up, and Rebecca is edgy. Before long, the "incident" has become a full-fledged outbreak.
Rebecca dodges victims infected by the outbreak, a bounty hunter, and the denizens of the dystopian world as she ventures deeper into the quarantine zone. Despite the world crumbling around her, Rebecca seems distracted and detached as she journeys to find Adrastus, the author of a cryptic letter. In the letter, Adrastus implicates Frontier’s silent partner, Februus, as the agent of the outbreak. To Februus, people are immoral and irredeemable creatures, and the plague is his remedy for their vicious ways.
Rebecca finds Adrastus at an abandoned train yard, and sets about creating a vaccine. Her search for a potential “host” uncovers an unlikely candidate, a ten-year-old boy named Tommy. Rebecca appears reticent to use Tommy as a test subject, citing that she does not know what the process will do to him. Adrastus convinces her that Februus will not be content to sit on his hands. Rebecca proceeds with the vaccine, withdrawing into her work.
In a race against time, Rebecca must produce the vaccine before the infected victims overrun the train yard. How much will the vaccine cost herself and Adrastus? And how much does it cost Tommy: his life... or worse?
Target Audience
The target audience for Reformation is anyone who appreciates graphic novels with an excellent story and superior art work. More specifically, our story targets readers ages 18-40 with an interest in the noir and horror genres. The decision to make the main character (Rebecca) a woman was also a very conscious decision. We wanted to attract women readers who were sick of female characters that are either relegated to "support" roles, or are drawn as scantily clad sex objects with ridiculously large breasts.
