Happy Holidays horizontal ruler
11/17/2011

Hi. It has been a while. These days I am busy with work, school and life in general. It keeps me too busy to work on comics, unfortunately. But I wanted to take a moment to wish everyone happy holidays. I hope you get to spend time with family and friends, enjoying festive meals and time together.

March 2011: Anniversary Month! horizontal ruler

This update has been a long time coming. Hopefully there are still a few of you who are visiting the site or following me via the RSS feed. So begs the question, What has been going on? Not a whole lot, to be honest. Hopefully that will change, however. Of course I am referring to this site and the Real Ghostbusters fan comics, namely issue 50. In other Ghostbusters news, a lot is happening. Just check out the Matty Collector Ghostbusters page for some of the very cool collectible figures and props. Or check out Proton Charging for the news on the upcoming Real Ghostbusters Mini Mates, featuring the first-ever toys of villians from the Real Ghostbusters cartoon series. I'm very stoked about this.

Ghostbusters MiniMates for 2011 So getting back to comics, here is what is going on. I have been struggling with coloring. I bought a Bamboo tablet after Christmas. But even before then I was coloring some of the already completed pages of issue 50. The tablet takes some getting used to and I haven't had a lot of time lately to practice. My coloring skills aren't very good, I'll just be honest about that. The digital coloring process doesn't come naturally for me and I find it incredibly time-consuming. Personally, I much prefer to spend my time writing, drawing and inking the comics than coloring. The coloring process used to be something I thoroughly enjoyed when I worked with colored pencils and crayons, but the desire to make the digital coloring look professional consumes a lot of time. I am hoping to find a process that works for me that is fast and produces reasonably good results. One thing I do not want to do is skip the coloring process altogether. Color really makes the art "pop" and I want the art to look as nice as possible. If you have any tips or links to tutorials, please share. I would love to find some helpful tips. I have the latest Adobe Creative Suite and I have experience with GIMP as well. So any tutorials with those software packages would help.

If I continue the comics, I would like to consider weekly web comics. Perhaps releasing a page a week rather than doing what I have done in the past. That might keep me motivated and it will give you more great content to enjoy. If you have thoughts about that you can contact me. Thanks for your patience. Hopefully there will be more to share soon.

eBay Watch: Egon Mint In Box horizontal ruler

Occasionally I come across some interesting Real Ghostbusters memorabilia on eBay and I rarely share them here, but this one deserves some attention. The auction has ended, so you can't bid, but I wanted fans to see this in case they missed it. Looking at the pictures you can see how pristine the item actually is. The hole was never even punched on the card! Amazing! I would have loved to have added this to my collection, but my wallet said no. :) Egon figure mint in box PIC 1
